These tasks should largely be reserved for Ops tasks and Hiring Manager and Onboarding Buddy Tasks - we don't want to assign too much to our New Hires before their first day.

Get them excited an unblocked – Don’t underestimate the importance of asking them questions about logistics and admin like have you logged into XYZ? to help ensure that they have the access to what they need to be successful. You can also remind them about their payroll and benefits resources - do not feel like you need to solve payroll or benefits issues

What is week 1's schedule?

Get them connected – continue to check in with them often and encourage your team to do the same, and start helping them make connections outside your team. Ask them how those meetings are going, encourage them to discuss their observations with you, and share their thoughts on how their role might intersect with the work of other departments.
