Will homework be assigned every night
Yes… for the most part It should be expected. There will be some exceptions
Is Algebra 2 count towards graduation
Yes. It is the 3rd course in the sequence . Students need 3+ math credits to graduate
What is the block period ?
Students meet for 80 minutes every other day.
Do the students have to take a regents ?
yes . Passing the regents exam is required for graduation
Next Gen is new this year and will be given on June 1st
Will there be opportunities for extra help
Yes I am after school most days until 3:00.
Some Tuesdays are set aside for meetings
Does homework count
Yes Completed assignments will count 2 points, one point for half complete
Does a student have to take the regents exam
Yes. It is required as part of the course
What is done during the block period ?
The block gives us a chance to practice the skills taught
What if The test isn’t passed?
The test is offered 3 times per year .
students must pass the course and exam this year
Do I need a calculator?
The ti-84 graphing calculator is highly recommended. Especially to do the homework.
There are calculators available to use in class or after school.
Why do I need to take the exam ?
it is the last exam for the advanced regents diploma

No… I try not to … try to mix it up with activities .
(sometimes it might be necessary to extend the lesson)
