Columbus Day - Oct. 10 / Veterans Day - Nov 11 (and kids only have a half-day of school on Nov. 10 because of Staff Development, so they really have a 31/2 day weekend.

Can my child bring a snack to eat during class?
Yes - as long as it's healthy and not messy.

It's best to call and request the homework be collected between 8 and 8:15 AM.

Please call first. The teachers can't "conference" with one parent and leave the students unsupervised.

When are Parent Teacher Conferences?
Nov. 30 (Wed.) Afternoon Dec. 6 (Tuesday) Afternoon These are half-days for students. If I meet with you before then, there is no need to sign up for a Parent/Teacher Conference again unless you want one.

When is Math Enrichment? What is "Math Enrichment"?
Math Enrichment is an extra 40 minutes of math time each day in addition to the regular 80 minute Math class. Some students will have band, orchestra, or Math RTI during this time. It's scheduled every afternoon from 1:30 - 2:10.

Dec. 24 - Jan 2. We'll return to school on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

What about Birthday Treats?
They're certainly welcome - if possible please send in store made/wrapped treats that don't contain nuts/peanuts. Please if you send in something messy, send in napkins too (and pre-slice the brownies).

What if I call to talk to the teacher during class time?
You'll be asked to leave a message our voicemail. We'll make every effort to call back within 24 "school" hours. Please leave a phone number and a brief message explaining why you're calling.

Right after we return from Spring Break. ELA - April 17 & 18th Math - April 24 & 25

What is ELA Enrichment? When is it scheduled?
ELA Enrichment is an extra 40 minutes of ELA time each day in addition to the regular 80 minute class period. Some students will attend Chorus or have RTI during this 40 minutes. It's scheduled 10:05- 10-35.

Sat. Feb. 18 - Sun. Feb. 26. We'll return to school on Feb. 27.

24 very hungry kids! (plus 3 adults)

When is the best time to call and discuss an issue?
8 - 8:15 AM. Please remember that the teachers have to be ready to "teach" 24 very active kids at 8:30, so it's best if all morning phone calls are completed by 8:15.

Wed. June 20th. This is also the 6th grade Awards Assembly.

What's SUPPE? When is it scheduled?
Supplemental PE (Kids don't have enough "minutes" of PE built into their weekly schedule to meet state requirements, so 15 minutes each morning is scheduled as a time to move around and be active. 10:45-11.

Can I send in a snack that has to be refrigerated?
It's better if you don't since we only have a small refrigerator (dorm size) in the upstairs wing.

What's the best time to pull my child from school for a doctor, dentist, orthodontist, etc. appointment?
With this year's schedule, it's probably best to pull them at the end of the day. It's really great if you try to vary the time or day so your child isn't always missing the same class.
