A source of light that gives off its own light is called luminous or non-luminous?
It is a luminous light.
100
What are the three primary additive colours,
Red, blue and green.
100
Angle of relfection is the angle between the ___ and the normal.
Relfected ray.
100
When light passes from a fast state to a slow state. Will the light ray bend away or towards the normal?
It will bend towards the normal.
100
Is a lense a piece of transparent or translucent glass/plastic?
The lense is transparent.
200
Define light
Light is a form of radient engery that the eye detects.
200
How is the colour of an object determined?
The colour of an object is determined by the colours it absorbs and the colours that it reflects.
200
What is a concave mirror?
It is a mirror that curves in at its centre.
200
What is refraction?
Refraction is the bending of light when is travels through a substance.
200
What is a convex lense?
It is a lense that makes parallel light rays come together.
300
What is so good about fluorescent lighting?
Fluorescent lighting is more efficient at producing light from incandecent light and they last longer.
300
Define transparent and translucent.
When something is transparent all light is able to go through. When something is translucent only some light is able to go straight through and some bounces off.
300
What are the four key characterstics in mirrors and what do each of them mean?
1. Size: Is it larger or smaller then the object. 2. Altitde: It is upright or inverted. 3. Location: Is it shorter or longer then the object distance. 4. Type: Is it real or virtual.
300
Why does light bend when it hits a slower state?
It bends because when the light hits a slower state, it slows down while the upper top is still travelling its normal speed causing the light to bend.
300
What is the difference between a coverging lens and a diverging lens?
A converging lens makes light rays come together and a diverging lens makes the light rays move apart.
400
What Incandescent light bulbs.
Incandescent light bulbs have an electric discharge and they have a tiny tungsten wire that gets very hot and gives off a bright glow when electric current runs through.
400
Why do we see the colour red on a red apple?
We see the colour red because when a white light shines on a red apple the green and yellow light are being absorbed and the red light is being reflected.
400
Will an object located at the focal point of a concave mirror produce an image? Explain.
No it will not produce an image because the light needs to reflect off the concave mirror and go through the focal point, but if the object is already located on the focal point then it cant go through.
400
If light is travelling from a glass into the air, will the light bend away or toward the normal? Why?
The light will bend away from the normal line because the light is travelling faster when it reaches the air because the air is faster then water, so the light is moving away.

What type of lens is used to correct farsightedness? How does it work?
A convex lens is used to correct farsightedness and it's placed on the eye allowing the light to reach the back of the eye, so you can see perfectly.
