What is Contaminated?
Bloody drapes, suction tubing, and sponges go into this color bag.
What is a red trash bag?
The orderly must verify this to ensure they have the correct patient.
What is the patients identity with wristband and repeat back with parent?
After a turnover these 3 things should ALWAYS be ready to go related to the airway and the anesthesia machiene.

Any item that touches the patient or sterile field must be cleaned with this.
What is purple wipes?
If the room is closing, this must be done to all equipment.
What is unplug and put away?
If the patient received narcotics within 30minutes, this person must accompany them to the OR.

When you put a bed or a crib out for a room these 2 things should ALWAYS be on it and plugged in.
What are Oxygen and Tubing?
At the end of each day this type of cleaning is required for all used ORs.
What is terminal cleaning?
This area needs to be mopped after every case
What is the entire floor, including under the bed- (you must move the bed!)?
This is how many people should accompany the patient on a pickup.
At least 2- the parent and the orderly OR 2 orderlies/Caregivers. Never transport alone.
