(Multiple Answers) Name one of most common registration errors you will see in the registration labs and how to "fix it"
Health Holds - the student should call the registrar’s office at the campus
applying the hold and ask them to lift the hold to allow for course registration at MSU –
Bozeman. If the hold cannot be lifted – encourage them to ask if they can forward date the
hold so that it allows them to register.
Pre - requisite holds - If the student completed the prerequisite for any of the following reasons, (Test scores ACT/SA, College Credit, AP/IB, or Math/Writing Placement) the OL may request an override in the registration
labs. If an OL is requesting an override in the registration labs, the OL will need to provide the
student’s MSU ID and the course’s CRN.
Linked Course / Co-Requisite : To resolve this error, a student should return to
course registration, add the appropriate co-requisite, generate a schedule again and then
resume the registration process.
Consent of Instructor / Restricted Entry: (Honors College, Gallatin College, Affinity /Identity Group Sections) During registration, students will be instructed to add Honors courses to their schedule and cart. When they register, they will receive a Consent of Instructor restriction. At this time,
students will write down the CRN of the courses they wish to add to their schedule, and
will provide this information to the Honors College. The Honors College will then register
students for these courses.
If the student was not advised to take a specific section, the OL should advise
them to return to course registration and find a different section. If the student is
interested in the restricted section, they will need to contact Gallatin College/Professor directly
