What is Eucharistic Adoration?
A time to worship Jesus Christ in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament-- the Eucharist.
What else can you do during Eucharistic Adoration other than prayer?
What does a Tabernacle look like and do?
Can be box/cylinder-shaped, has a cross on top, gold, looks like it is hiding something inside.
A Tabernacle is used to keep the Eucharist for safe-keeping! So Jesus presented in the Blessed Sacrament can never be thrown away. >:O
Why do we do it?
We take this time out of our lives to worship that Jesus Christ is truly, truly present in the Eucharist.
Where do you pray during the Eucharistic Adoration?
Any prayer in front of the Eucharist:
- In front of a closed Tabernacle.
- In front of the exposed host in a monstrance.
What does a Monstrance look like and do?
And how will you know if it is not being used?
Looks like a golden sun with shiny rays on the outside, the Eucharist being held inside.
The Monstrance is used to display the Eucharist specifically for adoration! >:D
You will know when the Monstrance is not in use when the priest covers it with a veil.

How did the Eucharistic Adoration originate?
When Jesus gave His disciples the bread and a cup of wine, telling them they were His body and blood, the night before He was arrested.
Eucharistic adoration enables us to spend time intimately thanking Him for His sacrificial gift expressed in His Eucharistic words: ____________
“This is my body which is given for you”
What should you not do during Eucharistic Adoration?
- No food or drinks.
- No personal belongings placed in the altar.
- The tabernacle and monstrance should not be touched due to it being so sacred.
- No Scipture-reading materials taken.
