Varies - Attend the sessions for the section of the course you selected

1x a week for the next 4 weeks (required for all New, 2 mtgs required for Returners)
After that, alternates between CRLA and staff meetings
What must PALs complete weekly?
Weekly planning book (1 plan for each session)
What is the deadline for submitting timesheets?
Every two weeks, Friday by 4 PM

What are PAL leaders not allowed to do in class or for faculty?
Grade classwork, proctor exams, or teach.

On PAL Canvas page *if emergency email, text or call staff*

What is the label on your timesheet for time spent preparing for sessions?
"planning"

How should a PAL Leader handle no-show sessions?
Stay 30 minutes and get paid for that 30 minutes

After 30 minutes create material to upload and get paid for the full hour (please send us that material and make note of it on timesheet)

Regular updates and meetings.

Academic integrity policy
How many strikes can a leader receive for late timesheets?

What type of courses does PAL typically support?
Courses with high DFW rates.
What is Lecture Etiquette as a PAL?
Being attentive and looking engaged. Avoid cell phone use.
Make contact with the professor often: If they have time, talk to them before or after class, update them on your sessions, etc.
How often should you post announcements on your PAL Canvas page?
At least 1x a week with info about your sessions (where, what, when, etc.)
What environment is required for online sessions?
Academic/private with camera and microphone on.
What is the first step in disciplinary actions?
Oral warning
How does PAL advance educational equity?
By providing a proper balance of challenge and support that leads to more independent and self-directed learning.
How many session cancellations are permitted per semester?
Up to three with notice. Use Cancellation Form found on Canvas page under Forms.
What is CRLA training used for?
Level certifications and pay increases. Attendance is collected by filling out a form after the event.
What do you do for a session that is larger than 15 students?
Log 1.5 hours on timesheet, make note
What must be done for professional development (UCAE, Career Center, etc.) event credit?
Submit form (found on PAL Canvas page) prior to attending the event.
