Look for signs at park entrance. Call the park department or check their website. Most parks open at sunrise and close when sun goes down.

If conscious, use a cold pack and monitor for the next 2 hours. Watch out for confusion, bleeding, vomiting or passing out. If unconscious, call 911. Do not move the unconscious person!

Go indoors if possible, or to a cooler area (shade). Remove excess clothing layers. Take sips of cool water slowly, place cool compresses on your body. Call 911 if symptoms get worse or you can't get out of the heat.
