Then Moshe was 10 amos (15-20 feet) and he had an axe that was 10 amos and he jumped 10 amos and he only got to Og’s feet. He struck Og's ankle and Og died

In Arvos Moav, which is right outside of Eretz Yisrael, across the Yarden. It took place right before Moshe Rabbeinu was niftar, in the 40th year of the midbar

Everyone of that generation (who was between 20 and 60) died in the midbar, and bnei yisrael would have to wander for 40 years.
