You walk quietly on the right side of the hallway, going directly to and from the bathroom, locker or nurses’ office without looking into classrooms or disturbing activities in the building.

You should line up and use the hallway/stairwell expectations.  Follow your teacher to the exit.  Follow the fire drill procedures.  When allowed back into the school, return to your classroom using the hallway/stairwell expectations.  At all times use a silent voice.

• You are sitting in class and have to go to the bathroom.  You should:

• Follow the classroom expectations on how to leave the classroom.
• “Sign- in” to use the bathroom in the designated log book
• Walk directly to the closest bathroom
• Walk into the first available stall, close the door, and lock it.
• When you are done; flush the toilet, unlock the door, and walk to the sink.
• Wash your hands using one squirt of soap and water.
• Dry your hands with one or two paper towels.
• Throw the paper towels in the garbage cans
• Walk out of the bathroom and go directly back to your class/assigned area.

• You walk into the bathroom and find that a stall is locked, but no one is in it.  You should:

• Leave the locked stall alone
• Go to an unlocked stall and use the bathroom as usual
• Inform a hall monitor when you leave the bathroom that a stall is locked
• Go directly back to your class/assigned area.
