Although you should follow adult directions the first time they are given in every area of the school, why is it extremely important to follow directions on the bus? 

Anything that takes the driver's attention from the road (such as telling a student to sit down) puts everyone's safety at risk - the driver and students, the people in other cars, the little kid crossing the road with his mom or dad as the bus goes by.

Bullying, harassment, and vandalism are examples that should be reported to the bus driver as well as to another adult at school.

Getting to your bus stop on time shows you value your education. Being on time to the bus stop is good practice for the responsibilities you will have as an adult.

When is it okay to stand up while in the bus? 

It's okay to stand up when boarding or getting off of the bus. At all other times you must remain seated.

Why is it important to sit down completely in the seat on the bus, rather than kneeling or standing? 

It's important to sit all the way down on the bus because the seat in front of you acts as a "seatbelt" on the bus and keeps passengers from flying forward in case of an accident.
