What is endocarditis.
Patients can present with fever, fatigue, weight loss, myalgias and sweating and will think they have the flu. However, on physical exam, you could find petechiae, splinter hemorrhages, Janeway lesions (painless, macular lesion on palms and soles), Osler nodes (painful, nodules on toes and fingers), Roth spots (exudative lesion on retina), and neurological complaints.
