When completing IR, who should and should not be included in the "Involved Parties" field on the form?
What is the exception to this field?
PAs and other staff members should not be included in the Involved Parties field- only residents involved.
Exception: PA or other staff members' names can be added to the field if they are direct victims or the alleged.
At the desk, you may get a call from an "alleged" parent of a resident for a wellness check.
What are your next steps?
-Notify "alleged" parent/family member that you are not permitted to provide details but will try to make contact and have "resident John" to call them.
-Report to the resident's room to knock and announce "University Housing PA"
If the resident present- notify that "parent" is trying to reach them.
If the resident not present- Try to make contact via listed non-emergency number in StarRez

A resident can report to you a variety of incidents, such as those that fall under Title IX Sexual Violence, Sexual Assault, Sexual Exploitation, Stalking, Domestic Violence, and other inappropriate sexual conduct.
What do you do?
-IMMEDIATELY notify the resident of your mandatory reporter status
-Contact Coordinator On Call (if after hours) or Coordinator (during business hours)
-Stay with the resident until the appropriate staff arrives
-Confirm with the Coordinator of the appropriate reporting submission after receiving all details of the incident.
