How many quizzes do students need to prepare for per week?
Typically, no more than 2 assessments are given per week. For each quarter, students are given an OUTLINE OF ASSESSMENTS which is a link on their calendar in mymcps classroom. The Outline of Assessments provides such information as the type of assessment that will be given, how to study for the assessment and when the assessment will be given.
My son/daughter needs help. When do you typically meet with students?
Great question! I am available during Advisory, before school and after school by appointment and during the first half of lunch Monday through Friday.
How long has Mr. Salzman been teaching at T.S. Wootton High School?
In a few months, it will be 30 years. All of my service years have been dedicated to the students and community surrounding T.S. Wootton High School.

What is Mr. Salzman's teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy centers around knowing my students as individuals as well as students. It aligns with Dr. Michael John Doran's famous quote at the bottom of all his emails which read:
"No significant learning can occur without a significant relationship." -Dr. M. Doran

The majority of our grades were given this week (9/2), so you will see two quiz grades and two homework grades at the beginning of next week (9/8).

I spend any free time that I have studying French painting from the mid-nineteenth century to the early twentieth century.

What is MCPS' policy regarding work that is not turned in?
Students who do not turn in work by the due date must do so by the deadline which is no later than 10 days thereafter. After the 10 days has elapsed, a zero may be recorded as the final grade for that assessment.
Students are always alerted when they did not turn in work by the deadline, take a quiz, etc.
