Nursing Interventions/Pt. Education?
  • Pt. Education: Take prescribed medication on time each day. Form a healthy diet plan into your lifestyle. Avoid smoking or being around second-hand smoke. Exercise 30 minutes 3-5x a week. Nursing Management: Stop all activities and sit or rest in bed in a semi-fowlers position to reduce the oxygen requirements. Ask questions to determine if the angina is the same as typically experienced. Assess pain, measure vital signs, and observe for respiratory distress. Administer nitroglycerin sublingually. Administer oxygen, if respiratory rate is increased, at 2L/min by nasal cannula.
