The personal project is truly personal because each student sets their own goal based on these.

This ATL skill involves exchanging thoughts, messages and information effectively through interaction.
What is communication?
These measure the degree of excellence to which the product aspires or the terms under which the product can be judged to have been successful.
What are success criteria? (Or criteria for success)
This person’s role is to support the student during the personal project. Each student has one of these.
This is the first objective students will complete.
What is planning?
Students may draw inspiration from their prior experience in this program of study.
What is the Middle Years Program (or MYP).
This ATL skill involves managing time and tasks effectively.
What is self-management?
Success criteria should be created by this person.
The student.
Members of this can support the personal project, both within and beyond the school.
What is the community?
This objective involves explaining how the ATL skill(s) was/were applied to help achieve their learning goal.
What is applying skills.
Students may draw inspiration from their interests and these things that help pass the time outside of school.
What are hobbies?
This ATL skill involves (re)considering the process of learning; choosing and using ATL skills.
What is reflection?
The success criteria must be testable, measurable and this.
What is observable?
This person should recognize and provide evidence of personal growth and development.
Who is the student?
The product of this objective is to evaluate the product based on the success criteria.
What is reflecting?
Students may begin the planning process with either a learning goal or this in mind.
What is a product?
This ATL skill involves using skills and knowledge in multiple contexts.
What are transfer skills?
Success criteria help to measure the impact of a product on the student or this.

Students will engage in the active exploration called this, which is a cycle of inquiry, action and reflection.

This ATL skill involves managing state of mind.
What are affective skills?
The definition of this word is: “both negative and positive planned and unplanned consequences of a completed project, including those that only emerge sometime after the project ends.”
