Laws of Motion
100

What did you observe in the video?

There were all different forms of energy. From sound to kids riding bikes, or people playing volleyball. The video also showed the natural ways we can harness energy. Such as wind, solar, and water.
100

Define Observe?

To observe is to watch and listen to something carefully.

100

Name how your group made the car move?

By applying the force yourself.

100

Why does the marble move when it is started on an incline track?

Gravity is pulling it down.

100

Complete this statement: An object at rest wants to-

Stay at rest:

200

What game were Mylo, Suzie, and Angilina playing in the introduction story?

Flashlight tag.

200

Define Claims?

Statements about something that answer a question.

200

What type of force was needed for the car to move?

A pull. You pulled it back to wind it up.

200

Does it take more or less energy for the ball to roll slower?

Less energy is applied.

200

Finish the statement: An object in motion wants to-

Stay in motion:

300

Is light, sound, and something moving all energy?

Yes.

300

Define Evidence:

Facts or observations that support the claim.

300

Name two ways you got the marble to move on the track?

By applying the force yourself, pushing it down the track. By slanting the track and making it inclined.

300

How did the speed of the ball affect the cups?

The faster the ball was moving, the more energy it had, and the more cups it could knockdown.

300

What happens to an object that's in motion, to make it stop.

Friction is eventually stopping it, or if another force is applied.

400

Why is energy essential?

We use energy to everyday simple acts, such as brushing our teeth. We also rely on energy for most our daily activities and appliances.

400

Define Speed:

Speed is the rate at which something or someone moves or travels.

400

Give an example of how energy created sound.

By bowling and applying that force, once the ball hit the cups we can hear the impact.

400

Where does energy come from when we turn on a switch? Name how a circuit works?

Electricity.

A closed circuit allows electricity to flow through; an open circuit does not allow electricity to flow through it.  Since electricity can't jump a gap.

500

Compare how a slingshot and the toy car worked similarly.

Both need a force (pull) to generate the energy to turn the car or rock into kinetic energy once both are released.

500

Define Collision:

When two objects bump into each other.

500

How does the energy stick work?

It's an open circuit, once you put both hands on it, you make it a closed circuit. Current is running through your body.

500

Name how energy transfer worked while bowling? Have to name the entire progression, starting with the ball.

You applied the force to push the ball towards the cups, the kinetic energy from the ball hit the first cup, causing a chain reaction of converting the cups from potential energy to kinetic energy once hit. One cup may have hit another cup and so on.
