What is simile?
The repetition of vowel sounds in a line of poetry.

A Japanese type of poetry that paints a picture of nature. It is three lines in length. The first line is 5 syllables, the second is 7, and the third is 5.
What is haiku?
A poem that states a poet’s sadness about the death of an important person.
What is elegy?
A group of lines that divides a poem into sections.
What is stanza?
exaggerated statements or claims that are not meant to be taken literally.
What is hyperbole?
The repetition of consonant sounds in a line of poetry.
What is consonance?
A fourteen line poem that states a poet’s personal feelings. Each line is 10 syllables in length, and every other syllable is stressed, beginning with the second syllable.
