What is a "damp" campus?
Students who accidentally lock themselves out get this many "free" lockouts; after that, it'll cost them.
What is one free lockout?
Many students may bring these to campus, not realizing they are prohibited for fire safety reasons. Mmm but they smell so good!
What are candles?
Students are always encouraged to lock their doors, as most thefts that occur on campus are crimes of this.
What is "crimes of opportunity"?
RAs should complete this many rounds of their buildings/area when they are on duty.
What is 3 rounds?
Ashland University allows these types of alcohol on campus; this is not allowed.
What is beer and wine ONLY, hard liquor is not allowed?
On the AU main campus, courtesy hours are 24/7, but quiet hours are this.
What is 9pm-9am, Sunday through Thursday, and 12am-9am, Friday and Saturday?
Students may have these in their residence hall rooms, but only up to a certain weight!
What are dumbbells under 20 pounds each?
Vaping is restricted on campus and should never be done inside campus buildings. However, as long as you're this far away from a campus building, I suppose it's ok.
What is more than 20 feet of a door, window, or air duct of a campus building?
If the RA on Duty does not know what to do, they should contact this person first.
Who is the RLC on Duty?
When handling an alcohol-related situation, if the RA is under 21, these key people should be present.
Who are the RLC on Duty and Safety Services?
If a non-approved animal is in the residence halls, the owner must remove the animal within this timeframe.
What is 48 hours?
Some of our students may refuse to give up their prohibited items. In this case, RAs should... (3)
What is call Safety Services, provide them with the student information and situation, and allow them to handle it?
AU conducts this many fire drills per year.
What is 2 per year; 1 per semester?
RAs should complete these 3 steps before their first round.
What is grab the duty phone, check in with the RLC, and check in with Safety Services?
These items, despite their affiliation, are allowed on campus. Just not their liquid variations.
What is alcohol-related merchandise (i.e. posters, clothing, etc.)?
Students wishing to change rooms must schedule one of these with their RA, and must wait this far into the semester before moving.
What is a mediation, and 3 weeks?
These items can cause damage - and a mess - and should be confiscated before someone gets shot! (2)
What are NERF guns and Orbeez guns?
If a theft occurs on campus, students should report it immediately to Safety Services. If the sum of property stolen is greater than this amount, students should be encouraged to file this.
What is $150 and a police report?
Duty logs should be submitted at this time. However, RAs are still "on call" until this time.
What is at the end of the last duty round; until 9am the next morning.
These types of paraphernalia are never allowed on campus and must be confiscated. Bonus points if you can name them!
What is binge consumption devices (i.e. beer bongs, kegs/pony kegs, beer funnels, etc.) and alcoholic containers (empty bottles as decor, bedazzled bottles, etc.)?
The Office of Residence Life conducts Health & Safety checks of student rooms this many times per semester, where we mainly look for these things (3).
What is 3 times per semester; unhealthy conditions (trash, laundry, etc.), safety things (smoke detector, door lock, etc.) and policy violations (alcohol, candles, etc.)?
Some students like to cook in their rooms, however, these cooking appliances are not allowed in the residence halls (3).
What are air fryers, hot plates, and toasters?
These things cannot be displayed in or from windows in both academic and residential halls (5).
What are alcohol containers, posters, signs, sticky notes spelling out bad words, scary cutouts, etc.?
While conducting rounds, RAs should be looking for these noticeable infractions/hazards (3).
What are broken windows, propped-open doors, random things that shouldn't be inside (bricks, stones, traffic cones/signs, etc.).
