How many shadowing hours do you need to send in application to PT/OT School?

It depends! Some schools may not even require any hours at all, but some may require 25,50, or even 100. It is recommended to get some hours as it can only help your application and further your knowledge and your opinions on the field.

What are some core/prerequisite classes you will likely need to take to get into PT/OT school?

Anatomy and Physiology, general biology sequences, general chemistry sequences, Physics sequence, a psychology course, a social sciences/anthropology course, a statistics course - some may even require an exercise course, kinesiology, and organic chemistry. However, all programs are different! Make sure to look at the requirements for programs you want to apply to to make sure you don't miss anything!

Inpatient acute care, inpatient sub-acute rehab, outpatient at a hospital, outpatient at a private clinic, nursing home centers, at a high school, at a university, for a sports team (at any level), as a teacher (likely have to pursue a sort of teaching certification), TRAVEL PT/OT!

OTs help their patients to participate in everyday occupations, also know as ADLs (activities of daily living) - and these can include ALL meaningful activities a person desires and needs to participate in for daily life (walking/running, cooking, getting dressed, driving, a sport, etc.)

What is mechanism behind Kinesio tape improving tendonitis pain on a joint?

Tendonitis is the rubbing of the tendon on the bone causing inflammation and irritation/pain. The Kinesio tape is able to actually "pull" the tendon tissue off of the bone and create more space within that joint, therefore reducing pain.

What is "phantom pain" and how does physical therapy help?

Phantom pain refers to discomfort or pain in the area where a limb has been lost; even though the limb has been removed, the motor/sensory neurons involved in that area are still intact in your brain and can be triggered and signal pain, making the person feel pain in the limb that is not there.
