The oven beeps when it reaches the temperature you set it to. The beep is a way of knowing "it's time to put the food in the oven!"

Do the assignment - that is the time of the day you are supposed to work on it. If you choose not to do an assignment when it is time to do it, you might not get enough time to do it!
