Nilkanth In Gujarat
After walking for five days, Nilkanth reached Surat, and stayed at the Godiya mandir. There, he fasted for three days, and on the fourth day he accepted an offer of food from a gardener’s wife. Afterwards, he went to a Ghat, and despite warnings, decided to swim across the Tapi River, which was very deep. After the swim, he continued walking along more river banks and stayed overnight at another Ghat. Afterwards, he passed through Pimpali and Tavare, did darshan at mandirs, and reached Ansuya. At Ansuya, a female devotee named Rajbai offered him milk every day. Upon seeing this devotion, Nilkanth stayed at Ansuya for a week. Afterwards, he continued his journey through other sacred places in Gujurat, He eventually stayed at the mandir of Vaghnath Mahadev. He arrived at Vadodara at night, where his presence attracted many people, including a merchant named Amichand. From Amichand, Nilkanth accepted a small portion of food and blessed him and his family. Finally, Nilkanth reached Bochasan and rested under a banyan tree.

Mohandas Meets Nilkanth
Nilkanth met a sadhu named Mohandas while walking through dense forests. Mohandas was deeply impressed by Nilkanth’s divine personality and felt great peace in his presence. Nilkanth told him that he was travelling to guide those who were spiritually lost. Mohandas decided to stay with him and learn from him. Although eager for spiritual growth, Mohandas was still attached to worldly objects. He became especially attached to Nilkanth’s kamandal. Nilkanth noticed this attachment while crossing a river. To teach him a lesson, Nilkanth broke the kamandal. He explained that attachment to objects prevents liberation. Mohandas realized his mistake and bowed at Nilkanth’s feet. Later, they came across strange fruits fallen from a tree. Nilkanth warned Mohandas that the fruits were poisonous. Four arrogant bawas ignored the warning and ate the fruits. The bawas died due to their arrogance. Years later, Mohandas met Bhagwan Swaminarayan and became Vrajanand Swami.

Meeting Ramanand Swami
Nilkanth stayed in Loj for nine months but had still not met Ramanand Swami. He expressed his strong desire to meet the guru to Muktanand Swami. One day, Nilkanth sat beside Muktanand Swami during his puja. While meditating, Muktanand Swami saw Ramanand Swami in samadhi. Through yogic powers, Nilkanth also had darshan of Ramanand Swami during this meditation. Nilkanth accurately described Ramanand Swami’s physical features, surprising everyone. Soon after, Kurji Dave brought news that Ramanand Swami was coming to Piplana. All the sadhus rejoiced and prepared to leave immediately. Nilkanth, having nothing material to offer, gifted Kurji Dave Akshardham. That night, Nilkanth and the sadhus walked toward Piplana in the rain. When urged, Nilkanth used his yogic powers and moved ahead rapidly. He crossed the flooded River Ozat by walking over the water. After bathing and performing puja, Nilkanth waited for the others. Once everyone arrived, they went to Narsinh Mehta’s home. On 19 June 1800, Ramanand Swami warmly embraced Nilkanth and revealed his divine glory to all.
