JJC STAFF CAN CALL THE EXTERNAL REPORTING AGENCY (FSA), FILE GRIEVANCE OR EMAIL AND SUBMIT TO PREA COORDINATOR OR SUPERVISOR, HAVE A TRUSTED INDIVIDUAL MAKE A REPORT FOR THEM, USE THE THIRD-PARTY PREA GRIEVANCE FORM ON THE JJC'S PREA COMPLIANCE PORTION ON WEBPAGE OR CALL THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT.

YES. A JJC SUPERVISOR/SYC/DESIGNATED MIDNIGHT SHIFT STAFF CONDUCTS AN ANNOUNCED ROUND AT LEAST ONE TIME PER WORKDAY. EACH UNIT HAS A PREA ROUND BINDER WHERE UNANNOUNCED ROUNDS ARE DOCUMENTED.

HAS THE JJC OUTLINED WHO HAS ACCESS TO A RESIDENT'S RISK ASSESSMENT IN ORDER TO PROTECT SENSITIVE INFORMATION FROM EXPLOITATION?

YES. AFTER THE INITIAL VSAB IS COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED AS PART OF THE ADMISSION, IT IS LOCKED TO LINE STAFF. ONLY SUPERVISORS, ADMINISTRATION, MENTAL HEALTH AND MEDICAL STAFF HAVE ACCESS TO THE ASSESSMENT AFTER INTAKE. STAFF ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SHARE RISK ASSESSMENT INFORMATION WITH RESIDENTS OR OTHER STAFF WHO DON'T NEED TO KNOW.

THEY ALSO HAVE ACCESS TO PREA INFORMATION IN THE RESIDENT HANDBOOK, PREA PAMPHLET AND THE PREA BOARDS IN THE LIVING UNITS.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. ALTHOUGH WE WOULD REQUEST FOR THE VICTIM TO NOT SHOWER, WASH HAIR, EAT, DRINK, BRUSH TEETH OR USE THE BATHROOOM IN AN ATTEMPT TO PRESERVE EVIDENCE, WE WOULD NEVER DENY THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMPLETE ANY OF THESE THINGS.

WHEN DO RESIDENTS VIEW THE PREA RESOURCE CENTER'S COMPREHENSIVE VIDEO AND COMPLETE THE PREA COMPREHENSIVE TEST?

WHEN SOMEONE ATTEMPTS TO GAIN TRUST BY GIVING YOU GIFTS, DOING FAVORS FOR YOU OR BY MAKING OFFERS OF PROTECTION. FOR EXAMPLE: SPECIAL ITEMS, EXTRA FOOD/SNACKS, PICTURES, ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS, GIFTS, ETC.

USE THE GRIEVANCE/EMERGENCY GRIEVANCE SYSTEM, TELL A TRUSTED INDIVIDUAL AT JJC, REPORT TO PREA COORDINATOR, CALL FSA USING AMEELIO TABLET, ASK SOMEONE OUTSIDE OF THE JJC TO MAKE A THIRD-PARTY REPORT FOR THEM.

HOW DOES THE JJC USE INFORMATION FROM THE RISK SCREENING DURING INTAKE TO KEEP RESIDENTS SAFE AND FREE FROM SEXUAL ABUSE AND SEXUAL HARASSMENT?

THE JJC USES INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM THE RISK ASSESSMENT TO MAKE HOUSING AND PROGRAMMING DETERMINATIONS. ALL RESIDENTS WHO SCORE AS HIGH RISK (12 POINTS OR ABOVE) ON THE VULNERABILITY SCREENING ASSESSMENT OR WHO SCORE AS SEXUALLY AGGRESSIVE WILL BE EVALUATED FOR APPROPRIATE HOUSING AND PROGRAMMING BY THE PREA COORDINATOR WITH RECOMMENDATIONS FROM MH AND MEDICAL AS NECESSARY.
