I am helping athletes to respond to a stimuli in their performance. What am i and how can i as a test help them improve?

Reaction time - Practice responding to a stimuli that relates to your activity and offer a precise example

Cardiac output equation

Cardiac output (CO) = heart rate (HR) × stroke volume (SV).

Lactate levels increase because ...

There is insufficient oxygen available to the muscle cells to deal with the demand of energy expenditure.

Example of reliability

Example of validity

Reliability is consistency across time - testing at the same point of an athletes schedule

Validity is the extent to which the scores actually represent the variable they are intended to - does the test, test what it says it tests.

500

Justify WHY a weightlifter is using the anaerobic energy system

Must mention; ATP/PC > Correlated to movement being MAXIMAL. The more MAXIMAL movements we make the higher the need for ATP replenishment. When ATP is gone lactic acid system cannot maintain the intensity and therefore the build up of lactic acid prevents MAXIMAL movement being produced.

500

the exercise intensity and mmol at which the blood concentration of lactate and/or lactic acid begins to increase rapidly

85% and 8mmol

500

Justify WHY there is a anticipatory rise and a rapid decline of ventilation rate

The bodies response in anticipation to activity supports its capacity to react to future demand.

As the demand is no longer apparent the body wants to return itself to a state of rest.
