-ar verbs
I am working.
(Yo) estoy trabajando.
You are eating.
(Tú) estás comiendo.
She is writing.
Ella está escribiendo.
I am helping.
(Yo) estoy ayudando.
When do you use -yendo at the end of a verb?
You use -yendo when the stem ends with a vowel AND the verb is an -er or -ir verb.
We are speaking. (Feminine)
Nosotras estamos hablando.
I am running.
(Yo) estoy corriendo.
He is sleeping.
Él está durmiendo.
I am mowing/cutting the lawn.
(Yo) estoy cortando el césped.
Why is it leyendo and not leiendo for the verb leer?
It is leyendo because the stem ends with a vowel.
You are dancing.
(Tú) estás bailando.
She is drinking.
