Face, feet, shoulders folder with voices off... Students are learning!
How do I enter the room?
Silently! Follow the direction given to me by the teacher.
What if I want to participate and the teacher won't call on me?
Remember there are 20 students in the room and be patient. The teacher will call on me eventually!
Where do I sit during teaching time?
In your carpet spot. I have to make sure I am in my square!
What should it look like and sound like during partner or group work?
Voices should be at a Level 1 or Level 2. We should be focused and doing our best work. Our conversations should be focused on learning.
How do I know when I can talk in the cafeteria?
If the music is on, your voice should be off. If the music is off, you can talk at a whisper!
How do I sharpen my pencil?
Pencils may sharpened in the morning during morning work. You have four pencils in your case. Make sure they are sharpened each morning!
What if there is an emergency?
Stay calm and silent. Listen to the announcements and my teacher for instructions.
How should I walk to the carpet for teaching time?
Quickly, quietly, and walking! Use the transition timer.
How do I make my lunch choice?
Use the numbered magnet to choose lunch - even if I have a lunch box!
How do I complete morning work?
Morning Work is a silent time! I should be focused and work efficiently to complete.
What if I need to use the restroom and it's a emergency, but the line to use the restroom is too long?
Tell the teacher it's an emergency by raising your hand.
If I have materials on the carpet, how should I treat them?

How do I transition or move through the room?
Use the transition timers on the board to gather all materials and meet in the next place. I walk silently through the room!
What if we are outside and I see someone breaking a recess rule?
Tell a teacher if they are hurting someone or themselves (not being kind, physically)
