Where can you get/return pencils in our classroom? When can you sharpen pencils?
By the sink in the sharp/dull bin. Pencil sharpening is done in the afternoon by the Pencil Sharpeners.
What should you do during the announcements and pledge of allegiance?
Be at a level 0 during announcements. You can lay your head on your desk if you'd like.
What should you do when you have a question or want your teacher's attention?
Raise your hand and stay in your seat. No bouncing up and down or blurting out.
If papers are passed out and you don't get one, what should you do?
Raise your hand quietly.
What should you do if your teacher is talking to someone else and you need her attention?
Raise your hand and wait politely.
When can you use the bathroom?
NOT during teacher talking/direct instruction. Not when the stop sign is posted on the boys/girls bathroom lights. BEGINNING of Recess, BEGINNING of Lunch, During Independent Work.
What is the procedure for lining up?
At a voice level 0, stand up, push in chair, use walking feet to get in line. Three things Mrs. Ladd is looking for are 1. Voice Level 0, 2. Hands to self, 3. Facing Forward
What should you do when your teacher is talking on the telephone?
Be at a Level 0, even in the middle of a lesson!
What are our two weekly homework assignments? When are they due?
Reading Log - due Friday.
Reflection Connection on full weeks - due Monday.
What kind of snacks are okay to bring? What kind of snacks are NOT okay to bring?
Healthy snacks that will satiate your hunger. NOT candy, takis, chips, messy items or full size/family size/sharing size items. You should only eat what YOU bring, no sharing of food due to allergies!
How do you ask to use the bathroom?
Put up 2 fingers, wait until teacher nods 'yes' or 'no.' If it is during direct instruction (when the teacher is talking) she will nod 'no.' If the STOP sign is on the boys/girls bathroom lights, do not ask to go (unless it is an EXTREME emergency).
How are you supposed to move in the hallway?
Walk to the right, hands and feet QUIET and to self, Level 0
If you cannot concentrate at your desk because your neighbors are noisy, what should you do?
You can either move to a different area that is a common area (u-shaped table), back counter by the reading nook OR borrow some noise cancelling headphones.
If papers are passed out and you get extras, what should you do?
At a voice level 0, hold the extras in the air for the paper passers to come by and collect.
What are the rules about getting drinks?
You can keep a water bottle at your desk. If you need to get a drink at the fountain or refill your water bottle you must do so at the BEGINNING of recess, BEGINNING of lunch, or during independent time. NOT when the teacher is talking or teaching.
What should you do if you need to get a tissue to blow your nose?
What should you do with trash (whether it is YOUR trash, or trash you find on the classroom floor)?
Go the most direct route to the closest tissue box. Blow/wipe your nose and throw away your tissue in the closest trash can. Be at a Voice Level 0 walking to and from tissue/trash.

What are the rules for the wood chips on the playground?
What should you do when you walk in the room after lunch?
Enter quietly at a level 0, be ready to listen to Read-Aloud Book. If you have a class job, do your class job quietly.
What should you do when Mrs. Ladd asks you to pass in papers?
Where should your coloring utensils and pencil box be stored?
What should you do if your teacher says "Give Me 5," "Class, class," or "I hear a waterfall?"
Give Me 5 - 5. Listen, 4. Hands free, 3. Be still (freeze), 2. Quiet, 1. Eyes on Speaker. You DON'T count with your voice, count with your hands in air. "

What are the rules in the cafeteria?
Use lunchtime to EAT, listen to lunchroom teachers, use manners (please and thank you), walking feet, be kind to everyone, voice level 0 - . Clean up your own trash, only eat YOUR lunch. Raise your hand to be excused to clean up after yourself.
What should you do when you come in the classroom in the morning? (AKA morning routine)

What should be stored in your desk?
2 pencils, CKLA book and workbook, math workbooks, folders, whiteboard eraser, 1 whiteboard marker (that you ONLY use for whiteboards & math mats!), headphones, whiteboard clipboard, math mat
What should you do after using the toilet?
Use a reasonable amount of toilet paper, wash your hands with soap AND water, return to class!
