When can you pick out new books from our classroom library?
In the morning before special areas, before morning meeting, if you finish your work early, or in the afternoon during late busses. NOT during reading time.
What are two ways that you can show your group that you are listening to them?
Eye contact, nodding, asking questions, facing them, etc.
Name three things that you need to make sure you do when you come in first thing in the morning.
Make your lunch choice, fill out your agenda, work quietly at your desk, turn in your homework.
When should you turn in your homework in order to help us earn a case on our game board?
BEFORE special areas!
Name two things you need to remember when you are walking through the hallways.
Be silent, walk on the third tile, go straight back to class, make sure you walk
When can you use pillows and comfy chairs?
Only during silent reading time!
What should you do if you are playing a game and your group loses?
Say good game and congratulate the winners! You can always play again another time. Always have a good attitude.
How can you earn a chance to launch the monkey?
Look up the Wise Apple Word of the Week.
What do you do if you forgot your snack?
Meet Mrs. Wheeler at the back counter and wait patiently for her then say, "Could I please have some snack?"
How can you show your SAIL procedures in the cafeteria?
Table manners, clean up after yourself, talk only with people near you, hands to self, focus on eating!
How many books are you allowed to have from our class library at one time?
2 books!
What should you do if everyone in your group has a different idea and no one is agreeing?
Try to compromise, maybe do one persons idea first and then take turns, ask the teacher for help if you can't come to an agreement.
When is a good time to sharpen your pencil?
Any time that Mrs. Wheeler is not teaching/talking to the whole class.
What should you do if you lose your pencil, it breaks, or you can't find one?
Go get one from the pencil jar quietly!
Explain what the buddy bench on the playground is for.
If you don't have anyone to play with you can sit on it. if you see someone sitting on it, go up to them and ask them to join your game!
Name 2 rules that we have during flashlight Fridays!
Keep your flashlight only shining on your book, stay in one spot, do not flash your light on and off, make sure you are reading
If Mrs. Wheeler lets you choose your partners for group work, how do you make sure that you make a smart choice?
Choose someone who you can work well with, not necessarily your best friend.

Eyes on book, mouthing the words quietly, not getting distracted by others, staying silent, being able to talk about their book when reading time is over, being able to write about their book
