What do you do with your snack in the morning?
If you brought one from home, you take it out of your backpack and place it in your desk until it is snack time.
You MUST finish your snack by the end of earned time, or you will have to put it away for the remainder of the day.
I may have additional snacks for students who did not bring one from home, but this will never be a guarantee.

If I am a car rider in the gym for dismissal, what should I be doing to make sure I get home safely and on time?
I need to stand in my teacher's line and wait quietly and patiently for my name to be called.
We do this because the teachers need to hear the walkie talkies to get students out to their car.

How do we go about getting a new pencil? When is a good time to get a new pencil?
You grab a new one from the sharpened pencil jar/tray. You place your old pencil in the dull pencil jar/tray and go back to your desk! There is no need to sharpen pencils during instruction!
What happens if you did not turn in your take home folder or homework from the day before?
You either complete it during your earned time, then join the rest of your class, or you lose your earned time completely until the work is caught up and complete!
What are the bathroom expectations in the 4th grade pod?
1. Sign out using panther restroom pass
2. Take care of business at bathroom
3. Sign back into class using panther restroom pass
4. Return to your seat and get back to work.
Only 1 boy and 1 girl are allowed in the bathroom at a time.
You must stay on the 4th grade side of the bathrooms.
If you see anything, please write it on the panther bathroom pass, and let your teacher know at an appropriate time.
If I am a walker for dismissal, where do I go at the end of the day? What am I supposed to be doing?
I go line up at the pod doors like we are going outside for earned time. I wait for the teacher and walk in a nice and calm line outside to the basketball court. I grab my bike/scooter and walk it to the basketball court if I have one.
I am NOT getting on my technology until I leave school property, which is as soon as I exit the gate.
Where should your body be during morning meeting?
At your desk at a voice level 0 or 1, depending on what the morning instructions are. They will be posted on the board!
When is the appropriate time to ask to use the restroom or get a drink of water while your teacher is in the middle of a lesson?
How does your teacher know you are ready to go outside for earned time?
You are in line order at a voice level 0.
Once this is done, we walk quietly out of the pod doors and go outside to the playground.
What are the expectations for lunch/recess?
Recess:
Line order leaving the classroom.
1 whistle freeze
2 whistle line up in line order
Enter K-1 pod at voice level 0
Enter Cafe at a voice level 0 to begin eating lunch.
Remember that your lunch is only 20 minutes, so any misbehavior results in you getting less time to eat!
What should I be doing at the end of the day to show my teacher I am ready to leave for dismissal?
1. I am packed up and ready to go.
2. My chair is up
3. My floor and desk area are clean and organized.
4. I am at a voice level 0 waiting for instructions from my teacher.

How do we ask to get out of our seats during learning time?
Use the school nonverbal communication signals that are posted on the whiteboard or ask your teacher at an appropriate time!
If I brought a snack from home, but I do not want to eat it during snack time, can I eat this snack later in the day? Why?
No, because I am only supposed to eat my snack during snack time. If it is not finished during that time, I have to put it away for the day. I am choosing to not eat my snack now.
If you have a phone or smartwatch or any technology from home, where does it need to go and why?
It needs to be turned off in my backpack, because I do not need it at school. My teacher has everything I need to be successful and safe throughout the day.
If I cannot follow this new Kansas Law, I will have to face the consequences of my actions.
When lining up at the end of the day for dismissal, what are some things I should be doing? What are some things I should NOT be doing?
Things I should be doing:
Waiting for my teacher to tell me to line up
Keeping my hands to myself
Making sure I have everything I need for the day before lining up and leaving the classroom
Things I should not be doing:
Lining up without my teacher's permission
Putting hands on other people
Getting out of line to grab something from my desk or cubby

How do we line up to come inside from earned time?
Line up in line order at a voice level 0.
Keep the small problems small. They do not need to carry back into the classroom.
Enter the pod doors quietly and enter the classroom at a voice level 0 and return to your seat.
If you see any trash on the ground in the hallway or on the playground, what should you do to show that you are a leader in our building?
Pick up the trash and throw it away, even if no adult is looking.
This shows pride!
If my parent said I am dismissing a different way today, what does my parent need to do?
For example, I am usually a car rider, but today I am a walker.
Your parent needs to let the office know first, then let me know as well.
This ensures that you are going to get home safely every single day!
