Go through the missing child procedure
1)Double-check headcount, identify missing child. "I am with _____ and we are going to cookout"
2) At this point, all activities will stop and program will go on hold until further notice.
3) Communicate with nearby staff and office manager. Ensure they weren’t already signed out/in the bathroom/etc.
4) Ask other children in huddle – they may have seen child picked up, or walking away. Get identifying features (age/hair color/height/clothing worn that day).
5) Leadership staff will begin searching program space.
6) If entire program is searched and child is not found, director will call parent and if appropriate, police.
