What is a constraint?
These individuals often play the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing projects. They are accountable for the entire project scope, the project team and resources, the project budget, and the success or failure of the project.
What is a Project Manager?
In simple terms, these are the results of the project. Also known as the outputs. They can be a product or service, the documentation that is part of the project processes, or even the final goal or objective of the project.
What are Project Deliverables?

What is "responsible"?
A temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique project service or result.
What is a project?
A detailed outline of all aspects of a project, including all related activities, resources, timelines, and deliverables, as well as the project’s other constraints.
What is Project Scope?
Individuals and organizations (both internal and external) who are actively involved in the project, or whose interests may be positively or negatively affected as a result of project execution or successful project completion.
What are project stakeholders?
Primarily a management tool that is used to help identify and track project schedule. These points are typically used to note the start and finish of a projector a major phase of work.
What are Milestones?
In the RASCI responsibility matrix, individuals in this role need to be kept in the loop at all stages of project progress.
What is "informed"?
A group of related projects managed in a coordinated way to obtain benefits and control not available from managing them individually. It may contain elements of work outside of the scope of any discrete projects.
What is a Program?
It is a timetable that outlines start and end dates and milestones that must be met for the project to be completed on time.
What is Project Schedule?
While the exact definition of the role varies from one company to another, generally speaking, this individual is someone who fulfills many of the duties of a project manager but may not have the experience or certification to gain the full PM title. In many cases they may work alongside a project manager – who is there to provide strategic or structural support, or they may be tasked to handle smaller or less complex projects.
What is a project lead?
A scheduling tool which provides a strategic (big picture) overview of the major elements of a project. Project managers often use this to communicate a project’s strategic objectives to stakeholders and as an ongoing reference guide to keep them on track with their project’s progress.
What is a Project Roadmap?
In the RASCI responsibility matrix, individuals in this role may be asked to give advice or strategic support to the responsible member.
What is "consulted"?
A collection of projects, programs and other work that is grouped together to facilitate the effective management of that work to meet strategic business objectives.
What is a Portfolio?
This refers directly to the project's financial budget and also indirectly to staffing or other resource needs.
What is Project Cost?
Every project has at least one these individuals. While they don’t manage the day-to-day operations of a project, they are above the project manager in terms of the project hierarchy.
The project exists for them. They helped conceive the project, have formal authority over decision making, and their final approval or disapproval will mark either a successful or failed project.
What is a project sponsor?
This is a formal, typically short document that describes the project in its entirety. The purpose of this document is to describe the goals, objectives, and business case for the work.

What is "Support"?
Ongoing activities that produce long-term, repetitive outputs, such as manufacturing products or supplying services.
What are "Operations"?
The nickname given to the relationship between the triple contraints of scope, schedule, and cost.

What is a steering committee?
A project management tool that takes a step-by-step approach to complete large projects with several moving pieces by breaking down the project into smaller components/activities and assigning responsibility.
What is a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)?
