OA's team meetings will take place at least once a week, typically on a recurring scheduled day.
Tutor Training will take place on a bi-weekly basis and will work around all STEM and LRC Tutors’ schedules.

What happens if you lose your name tag and/or your PROMESAS shirt?
• If the Project PROMESAS shirt is lost or damaged, the outreach assistant is responsible for purchasing her/his own gray polo.
• If the CI name tag is lost or damaged, a lanyard name tag will be provided.
o It is the STEM Scholar’s responsibility to request a lanyard nametag.
o If you would like to replace your CI name tag you will be asked to cover the cost of replacement for any badges after the first one that is provided to you.
If you will be absent, how should you inform the Pro-Staff providing lead work?
Please note, even in instances where a verbal arrangement is made concerning an absence, we ask that all STEM Outreach Assistants submit requests and information via e-mail communication.

What is Title IX?
Title IX is a federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender or sexual orientation in employment, as well as in all education programs and activities operated by the University (both on and off campus).
In order to be eligible for employment as a STEM Outreach Assistant (including a lead position), students must:

o Be enrolled in at least 6.0 units of coursework at CI
o Be an undergraduate student
o Have a minimum cumulative and semester 2.0 grade point average (GPA)
o Be a STEM Major
o Be in good academic and behavioral standing (not on academic or
disciplinary probation) with the university
How much advance notice do we require from you if you must miss work for any reason?
While it is understood that some things may come up unexpectedly, we ask that you plan ahead as much as possible. If you will need to change/adjust your work schedule/hours notify the Pro-Staff providing lead work direction at least a week in advance.

What is Risk Management?
Risk Management is a function that allows CI to conduct its activities in a manner that does not impose an unreasonable risk of loss or injury.
When should you take a 30 minute break?
Student employees are entitled to take at least a 30-minute meal or rest break, unpaid, if they work more than 5 hours in any workday provided that they work 6 hours or more that day. Note that 15 minute breaks cannot be accumulated for lunch.
