Why do proteins fold?

Proteins fold specific ways in correlation to there "task" or "job"

100

In the RBCs that takes oxygen from the lungs to the tissue of the body

Hemoglobin

100

Does the template strand have U's in it?

No

100

Explain the first part of cell division.

We start as one cell and divide into trillions of cells.

200

Do As translate to Us when going from template strand to MRNA?

Yes

200

Makes tendon and ligaments with strength and skin with elasticity

Collegen

200

Does A's translate into U's from the template strand to the mRNA strand?

Yes. (Ex. Template= ATG turns into mRNA=UAC)

200

Explain cell division

We start at one cell and divide into trillions with the cells having different tasks. A set of DNA is copied during replication. When a new cell is created a small segment of DNA vare put in specific jobs. The genes are Turned ON/OFF (EXPRESSED/REPRESSED) to indicate the cell and what its task/job it will be.

300
Whats collegens main purpose?

To strengthen tendons, ligaments and make skin have elasticity

300

Helps cells take in glucose used for energy

Insulin

300

mRNA= UCG AUG GGC CCC AGA

What would the tRNA strand be?

AGC UAC CCG GGG UCU would be the tRNA strand

300

What does a cell being turned on mean?

Expressed

400

Do proteins fold to what their task is?

Yes

400
Explain Hemoglobin

It's in the RBC and delivers oxygen from the lungs to the tissue of the body

400

What is a cell being turned of called?

Repressed

500
The RBCs deliver oxygen from the lungs and into the tissue of the body.

Homoglobins

500

Explain Insulin

Insulin helps cells take in glucose which is used for energy.

500

Explain why cells are Expressed/Repressed.

The cells are turned on and off when determining what type of cell it will become.
