"Don't answer a fool according to his foolishness or you'll be like him yourself."

Gimme some kind of example from real life.

As long as the answer included someone being influenced by how fun or popular a fool is it's all fine by me.

300

"Without wood, fire goes out;"

What's the rest of the proverb?

"Without a gossip, conflict dies down" (or whatever their translation says).

300

"A proverb in the mouth of a fool is like legs that hang limp."

Gimme the verse that combos with this one.

"A proverb in the mouth of a fool is like a stick with thorns, brandished by the hand of a drunkard."

(Bella you better have gotten this one).

"Do you see a person who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than him."

-What does this advice mean AND why should we follow it?"

Humility is one of the most overlooked virtues in this world heavily influenced by meritocracy. Being humble allows us to have better self reflection. It allows us to look at other people's perspectives. It allows us to accept changes. It allows us to improve more effectively. It allows us to not get hurt as much by our failures. It allows us to work with others much more effectively. It decreases conflict.

If they touched on any of these points give it to em.

"Like a madman who throws flaming darts and deadly arrows, so is the person who deceives his neighbor and says "I was only joking!"

Gimme an example, or even better, a story.

An example of someone doing something obnoxious for fun, most likely getting his comeuppance.

(My example was.... I think I'll just say it out loud actually).

400

"Don't answer a fool according to his foolishness or he'll become wise in his own eyes."

A fool who gets even one follower will continue his ways, and eventually fall hard for it.

400

"The slacker buries his hand in the bowl; He is too weary to bring it to his mouth!"

Even if a slacker stumbles upon an opportunity, he won't capitalize on it.

400

"A hateful person disguises himself with his speech and harbors deceit within."

Gimme a real life example.

An example of someone being courteous, kind, and pleasant despite harboring hatred or disdain.

(My example is Asian families).

"The one who sends a message by a fool's hand cuts off his own feet and drinks violence."

-Find the combo verse

(Hint: Violence).

"The one who hires a fool or who hires those passing by is like an archer who wounds everyone indiscriminately."
400

"A person who is passing by and meddles in a quarrel that's not his is like one who grabs a dog by the ears."

What does "meddle" mean here?

To get involved for the sake of their own amusement, excitement, or curiosity.

500

"The slacker says, 'There's a lion in the road- a lion in the public square!'"

A lazy peep will make the most obscene justifications to not get out of bed (although there's a good bit of hyperbole in this example).

500

"Like a flitting sparrow, or a fluttering swallow, an undeserved curse goes nowhere."

(Hint: Swallows and sparrows are birds that fly long distances without break to migrate).

Criticism and malicious comments made without any good reason towards an innocent person will not stick, nor will they harm them.

500

"A gossip's words are like choice food that goes down to one's innermost being."

Gossip is not only very hard to resist (we're all curious and want to know more), but it also can change how we act and think, even if the gossip isn't true.

500

"Don't boast about tomorrow, for you don't know what a day might bring."

YA DONE GOT BAMBOOZLED. THIS ONE AIN'T EVEN IN CHAPTER 26. AAAAHAHAHHAHAHAHA- (but like if you answered it seriously I might give you points depending on how generous I feel).

500

"Giving honor to a fool is like binding a stone in a sling"

(Hint: The sling was a weapon, and the stone the ammo. I wonder what happens when you bind the stone and the sling together)?

If a fool receives honor, he'll simply continue to do stupid things, and it'll eventually come back to bite him. Someone uses a stone bound with sling can't actually release the stone to use as a weapon.
