60% of the back yard was grass. 5% was walkway. 9 square meters was a fountain used for decoration. The rest was garden!

The yard was rectangular in shape and had a width of 5 meters and a lenght of 15 meters.

How many square centimeters was the garden?

750,000 x .35 = 262,500 (is what is left after grass and walkway are in)  Then remove 90,000 square cms for the fountain.

262,500 - 90,000= 172,500 square cm's left of yard left to plant a garden.
