What is math?

Math is the science of number, quantity, shape, and pattern, a universal language that helps us solve problems through logic, critical thinking, memory, and speed.

What colour is Thursday? (For different people the answer is different)

Dark green

What did the historical figures do for a living?

They were mathematicians. (Bonus: Isaac Newton: physicist and astronomer. Kurt Gödel was a logician and philosopher. Ludwig Boltzmann was a physicist who worked on statistical mechanics and thermodynamics.)

500

What did Pythagoras make?

Pythagoras Theorem

What is psychology?

Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior. Essentially, psychology aims to understand why people behave the way they do and how mental processes influence behavior.

What are the first and last names of the mathematicians who were mentioned in this presentation?

Isaac Newton, Kurt Gödel, Georg Cantor, and Ludwig Boltzmann

What are at least 6 branches of math, and what are they?

arithmetic ( elementary operations), algebra (symbols for representing relationships), geometry (the study of shape and space), trigonometry (relationships in triangles), calculus (the study of change and motion), statistics and probability (data analysis and uncertainty), discrete mathematics (countable structures), and mathematical logic (formal reasoning)

800

What are at least 3 elements that psychology combines into itself?

Psychology combines elements of biology, social science, and philosophy to explore questions about consciousness, perception, emotion, learning, development, and mental health.

What was at least one mental issue that those mathematicians had?

Newton was depressed and paranoid, possibly bipolar. Gödel suffered from extreme paranoia that ultimately caused him to die from self-starvation. Boltzmann had depression and committed suicide, and Cantor, the father of set theory, suffered bouts of anxiety and depression, which could have also been bipolar disorder.
