Substances can be used for medical, recreational, entheogen, purposeful or research purposes.
Reasons
Unjustified distrust, suspicions unfounded, can be argumentative & sensitive to criticism/short-tempered.
Paranoid Personality Disorder (Cluster A)
Lack of will, energy.
Avolition
Inappropriate affect, disorganized speech (ex: loose associations, incoherence)
Disorganized Symptoms
Intrusive thoughts, nightmares, flashbacks, emotional/physical reactivity.
Cognitive Re-experiencing
Does not significantly interfere with social, educational, or occupational functioning.
Use
Repetitive & persistent pattern/behavior in which the basic rights of others or major age-appropriate societal norms or rules are violated.

Physiological reactions to ingested substances. Can be described using slang terms (ex: wasted, smashed, stoned)

Underarousal hypothesis, fearlessness hypothesis, BIS-BAS disbalance.
Antisocial Personality Disorder (Cluster B)
Inability to feel pleasure.
Anhedonia
SCZ affects social class.
Social Selection Hypothesis
Sleep disturbance, irritability, difficult concentrating, hyper vigilance.
Somatice Hyperarousal
Interferes with the user's life (ex: driving drunk)
Abuse

Tolerance: diminishing effect of a substance resulting from repeated administration.
