Results from a fx or a giving way of the pars interarticularis. Usually L5 slips anteriorly on S1

Plastic surgery of a joint (as the hip or knee) : the operative formation or restoration of a joint
What is arthroplasty?
Noninvasive technique that utilizes magnetic fields to produce an image of bone and soft tissue. Valuable in providing images of soft tissue structures such as muscles, menisci, ligaments, tumors, and internal organs.
What is MRI?
Invasion and multiplication of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites that are not normally present within the body
What is infection?
Closer to the top of the head
What is superior?
Chronic inflammation of the vertebral column and SI joints, leads to fusion and can lead to total loss of spinal mobility.
What is Ankylosing Spondylitis?
Surgical immobilization of a joint by fusion of the adjacent bones

An imaging test used to help diagnose problems with your bones.
What is a bone scan?
Hip
What is coxa?
Only used to describe limbs (arms and legs) closer to the limb attachment point on the body

Abnormal curvature of the spine
What is scoliosis?
A minimally invasive surgical procedure involving visual examination of the interior of a joint with an arthroscope to diagnose or treat various conditions or injuries of a joint and especially to repair or remove damaged or diseased tissue or bone
What is arthroscopy?
An electrical test that is used to determine the adequacy of the conduction of the nerve impulse as it courses down a nerve.
What is nerve conduction velocity test (NCV)?
Relating to the way in which something works or operates
What is functional?
Separates the tissue/body into superior and inferior sections
What is the transverse of horizontal plane?
Occurs when pain radiates from an inflamed or compressed nerve root
What is radicular?
Surgical resection of part of a tendon
What is tenectomy?
An imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within your body
