Isn't it unsafe to be at peoples' doors during a pandemic?
Safety comes first. We’re only launching once a metro area has met several public health criteria, and we’re taking every precaution to protect the health of our voters and team members. Our plans follow CDC guidelines and have been reviewed by an independent health expert.

Grassroots donors

since after the 2014 midterms

Do you work with a campaign?
Whenever possible, yes — we coordinate our efforts with candidates, committees, and state parties. We recognize that we have an even greater impact when we work together to get out the vote. Additionally, coordination allows us to point our supporters in the right direction when it comes time to volunteer.
How much is PTP's average donation?
~14.35 (generally, under $15) per donation
Why do you focus on field?
There’s a huge body of research showing that face-to-face conversations are the best way to turn out voters. That’s why we focus our resources on canvassing, and specifically in races where we can reach infrequent Democratic voters to have the biggest impact.
How is PTP different than other organizations knocking on doors?
As part of our mission to create lifelong voters, our language emphasizes “voter” as an identity over “voting” as an action. For example, we say “thank you for being a voter,” not “thank you for voting.”
Who are some people you've helped get elected that I would know?
Will vary depending on the area, but some national rising stars that we helped elect in 2018 are Rep. Katie Porter, Rep. Sean Casten, and Rep. Susie Lee. Generally, we help get democrats to the polls to get democrats elected in competitive races across the country!
How many supporters does PTP have?
3.2 million supporters, 370,000+donors
Who does PTP target?
In order to make the biggest impact for our investment, we target registered voters who are likely to vote for Democrats, but don’t vote on a regular basis. In other words: voters with a high partisan score and a low turnout score. Voting records are public record, so finding infrequent voters (low turnout score) is straightforward.
How much is PTP spending this cycle?
$52 million -- most of that going directly into voter contact/voter outreach!
PTP sounds great! How do I volunteer and knock doors like you do?
Thank you! If you're interested in volunteering, you can sign up for phone-banking with PTP to talk to voters like yourself! You can learn more and sign up at Turnout2020.org.
Why are you a Super PAC?
We aren't! We disclose all of our donations/donors to the FEC. We aren't funded by millionaires and billionaires, we are funded by every day people giving under $15/donation.
What are Stop Republicans and Progressive Takeover?
These two projects of PTP are affiliated PACs, supporting our mission with a focus on accountability and state-level races, respectively. This cycle, they are not operating separately from PTP. We’re including their fundraising numbers in our totals in this document.
Why didn't you endorse Jim Jimberly, the progressive challenger to the democratic nominee?
We endorse democrats in competitive races, typically after the primary is over. Some factors that play into our endorsement process is being a democrat, having a positive voting rights record, and previous endorsements from us. We role out new endorsements as candidates go through questionnaires from PTP.
