Andrew Jackson
Indians who left their lands east of Mississippi would be given land west of the river and the National government would pay the cost of the first year of settlement. It did not force the Indians to move but Jackson said that the U.S would no longer honnor treaties that promised the Indians protection from trespassers.

Cabinet members Jackson appointed based on their party loyalty. He worked informally with these group of men who were his close friends. They were given the name because they supposedly slipped into the white house through the kitchen

Same party as modern day democrats, after the democratic-republican party split, Jackson’s supporters changed the name.

An Indian leader of the Sauk and Fox tribes of northern Illinois, tried to stop the advance of white settlers. Fought alongside the British in the War of 1812. Was forced into Iowa territory where him and his people were suffering from starvation. Because of the threat for starvation he lead about 1,000 Indians across the Mississippi river
