What is the procedure when addressing a marijuana use/possession policy violation?

When you smell marijuana and can pinpoint it to one room.

  • If the residents open the door and are in possession of marijuana, RAs must call CSUPD to confiscate it.
  • If  the residents do NOT respond, complete a Yellow Card (halls), slide it under the door to the room(s), and submit an Incident Repor
  • When you smell marijuana but cannot pinpoint it to a certain room or two, work with your RD/RM or ARD/ARM to follow up with the floor/community informally. RAs should not call CSUPD to pinpoint where the smell is originating. No IR is needed however, include in the TDR.
