I'm a happy, funny man that loves to sing and dance. I want to continue being social. Hearing others have verbal arguments makes me uncomfortable. I expectance seizures from Grand Mal to Drop seizures. I'm verbal but often repeats information or catch phrases.

This person can experience seizures at any time and they continue to take medication to control it as much as possible. They normally bounce right back after a seizure, but there are few times when they need to rest. Their seizures can range from small ones with little detection, (head jerking off to the side or staring off, body stiffening, and my arms rising slowly usually not a jerk) to Grand-Mal type (full body shaking and moaning/holler). Their parents feel that their menses and/or being overly tired or ill will affect the frequency of their seizure activity. *911 should be called: if the seizure should last longer than 4 minutes, consecutive seizure activities one right after another that are abnormal, or if it interferes with breathing. RAC staff should make a note of the type of seizure, the number of seizures, and the duration. Parents would like to be called in the event they have several consecutive seizures so they can come check on them.

This person has different types of seizures, which is not unusual. They may stare off into space or at lights. They may have been coughing (barking sound) and drooling. There are times in which they will feel a seizure coming on and they will say Oh boy" or "Oh brother". They have also been known to vomit and become incontinent of urine during a seizure. They will also yell during seizures. Seizures normally last between 15 and 30 seconds.
It is not unusual for them to sometimes have "flurry seizures". These are short seizures that occur in a row.

You need to watch my closely because I like to put stuff in my mouth and that makes me a bigger choking risk. I don't have any behaviors and I'm pretty easy going. My parents would like for me to expand my communication skills.

Their guardian reports that the neurologists always want to medicate for seizures when they see seizure discharge on their x-rays, but the medication has a sedating side effect that their parents find concerning.
