What is tone?
A happy and optimistic tone.
What is cheery?
A practical and unemotional tone.
What is matter-of-fact?
Mildly angry; irritated.
What is annoyed?
An appeal based on someones credibility or character.
What is ethos?
Calm and relaxed; not displaying anxiety, interest, or enthusiasm.
What is nonchalant?
Showing intense and eager enjoyment, interest, or approval.
What is enthusiastic?
A sincere and in earnest tone, rather than joking or halfhearted
What is serious?
Expressing revulsion or strong disapproval.
What is disgusted?
Appealing to the emotions and values of an audience.
A tone that gives detailed information about how something should be done
What is instructive?
Finding something funny or entertaining.
What is amused?
Free from pretense or deceit; proceeding from genuine feelings.
What is sincere?
Dismissive of the importance of a person or thing.
What is belittling?
Appealing to the logic and reasoning of the audience.
What is logos?
A tone not influenced by personal opinions in considering and representing facts.
What is objective?
Contented; having met the expectations, needs, or desires of someone
What is satisfied?
A commanding and self-confident tone demanding respect.
What is authoritative?
A tone of pensive sadness, typically with no obvious cause.
What is melancholy?
The techniques employed to make an argument more persuasive.
What are appeals?
A change in the author's style, focus, or langauge within a text that alters the meaning.
What is a tonal shift?
Reflecting a belief that the outcome of something will be positive, favorable, or desirable.
What is optimistic?
Having no particular interest or sympathy; unconcerned.
What is indifferent?
Fearful apprehension; a tone implying something bad is going to happen.
