Two triangles are next to each other. One triangle has sides of 2, 4, 6 and angles that measure 30, 60, 90 degrees. The other triangle has sides for 8, 16, 24 with angles that measure 40, 60, and 80. Are the triangles similar? Why or why not?
No they aren't similar. Although the sides are proportional, the angles do not equal one another.
Similar figures must have proportional sides AND equal angles.
