Measurement
A measurement system in which all instances of the target behavior are detected during the observation period.
What is continuous measurement?
Limiting free access to reinforcers and instead delivering reinforcement contingent upon target behavior.
What is contingent reinforcement?
Engaging in behaviors because they are internally pleasing in some way. Functioning only to give the patient some form of sensation that is pleasing OR to remove a sensation that is displeasing.
What is automatic reinforcement?
Generating session notes based on what was OBSERVED throughout the session.
What is an objective description?
Assists in identifying potential reinforcers that can be used throughout session.
What is a preference assessment?
The amount of time in-between stimuli delivery and response.
What is latency?
A previously neutral stimulus that has become a reinforcer by being paired with an established reinforcer.
What is a conditioned reinforcer?
Requiring that the maximum number of responses occur in a given time period.
What is differential reinforcement of low rates of responding?
After working in clinic, Sally went to babysit one of her client's at their home because parents begged her so they could have a night out.
What is a dual relationship?

A systematic method of assessment for obtaining information about the functions a problem behavior serves. The results are used to help guide the design of an intervention for decreasing a problem behavior & increasing appropriate behavior.

What is discontinuous measurement?
Systematically increasing the time between presentation of the acquisition target (SD) by gradually increasing the number of trials of previously mastered targets between trials of the acquisition target.
What is expanded trial? (During DTT)
A procedure that occurs when a previously reinforced response is no longer reinforced. The maintaining reinforcer is no longer provided.
What is extinction?
Maintaining 5% of direct BCBA supervision each month.
What are RBT supervision requirements?
Presenting two stimuli simultaneously, ask client to select one. Each stimulus is matched to every other stimulus in the set. The most frequently selected item will likely be the highest motivating reinforcer.
What is paired stimulus or forced choice?
Measuring behavior after it has occurred by measuring the tangible items or effects a behavior has on the environment.
What is permanent product recording?
The first step in the task analysis is taught to mastery, upon mastery the next step is introduced and the patient is to complete both steps; this is continued until all steps in the task have been taught and completed.
What is a forward chain?
An antecedent event or change in the environment that alters the effectiveness of the reinforcer and the rates of the responses that have produced that reinforcer previously.
What is a motivating operation?
Client illness, moving, parent out of town, medication, lack of sleep, or new sibling.
What are variables that may affect client performance?
An analysis to assist in pinpointing what may trigger a behavior and assists in identifying what consequence may be maintaining the behavior.
What is ABC data collection?
Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence
The portion of an organism's interaction with the environment that is characterized by detectable displacements in space through time of some part of the organism and the results in a measurable change in at least one aspect of the environment.
What is behavior?
TWO PART:
A physical prompt is initially delivered, therapist will gradually fade prompt unless the patient shows signs of regression or makes an error during the task.
This strategy is used ONLY when teaching behaviors requiring physical prompting.
