Elizabeth- Was the mother of John the Baptist, had faith that God would give her a child, was caring to Mary while she was pregnant.
Mary Magdelene- Stayed by Jesus' side as he died on the cross. Was this first witness to the resurrection.

Visible: Water bottle, snacks
Invisible: hope, worries, prayers

In worship, during RE lessons, in Maths and English on our own learning
Who was Gladys Alyward and what did she do?
She was a Christian Missionary who went to China to spread the word of God. She helped to end foot-binding and helped over 100 orphans get to saftey during war.
How are pilgrimiges the same and different in different religions?
Same: to be closer to God, to learn more about themselves, to grow spiritually
Different: They may go to different places that are significant to thier religion, they may have different traditions
Who is Sarah Mullaly? Why is she importnat.
She was the first female Archbishop of Caterbury. This is important as it shows the growing role of women in leadership roles in the church.
What is more importnat to christians, the journey or the desination?
Both! Different people may expeirence pilgrimage differently. One person may value their thoughts and reflections during the walk while another might be spiritually changed by being in a sacred place.
