No; 9th grade is majority general ed and electives. Sophomore year you can take drivers ed and you will have a lot more freedom to pick branching/other classes

40 of as of right now; but If you would like to make your own club talk to your guidance counselor!

What is the cell phone policy?

Depends on your teacher for your class! If you do not respect your teacher's rules however, you are at risk of having your phone taken either for the period or the rest of the day

Is there homeroom?

only for special occasions and your first day where you will get your locker and combination; you will be informed if you need to go to your homeroom for an occasion

a variety! Our clubs range from Acapella, Chess, Technology, Languages, Sports, etc.

How hard are advance placement (AP) and honors classes?

Depends on your work ethic; AP can be beneficial when boosting your grade/GPA and it challenges you - but remember, it is a college-paced class! Teacher recommendations are important and they can help you pick the right classes for you

Is LINK considered a club?

Yes! You need a teacher, student, or guidance counselor recommendation to be able to be apart of it

A variety - you can check the DASD website to look at all the classes! 2 popular ones are health and gym. However, they are pricey and cyber (fully online)

How can I become a part of a club?

You can sign up under the Clubs tab on the DWHS website; there you will find all the details of the club and who to contact if you have any questions!

Are you allowed to open any entrance doors past 7:40, either for a student or a teacher?

No! If you are caught on camera letting someone inside the building past 7:40, you face an automatic in-school suspension

When can I start the graduation project?

Anytime! It is recommended you get it done freshman or sophomore year as it is easier to do so. The project must be pre-approved and a mentor signature that is not family-related is required to validate hours

What are blended courses like?

fewer face-to-face meetings; depending on the class, you typically will have 2 in-class days and 3 blended periods

Is there a limit to how many clubs I can be involved in?
