If a student sees a “Missing pre-requisite or co-requisite” error message when registering for a course, what should you do?
Double-check that you have the correct pre-requisite or co-requisite and, if so, request a permit from the academic department that offers the course. Example: Permits for Humanities courses are issued by the Department of Humanities.

Closed Course error appears when attempting to register – how do you know if you can opt for the waitlist?
If the waitlist is available and not already full as well, you should see a drop-down option to be added to the wait-list for that class section. If you do not see this option, then the waitlist is either not available or is already full.

You CANNOT register for any classes if you have an advisor hold.
What should you do if the preferred section of a class you want to register for is full but it has the best Ratemyprofessor ratings, is at the perfect time, etc.?
Consider other professors, sections and/or classes. Oftentimes students are able to get most of their ideal classes, however, taking a core class is more important than getting the best rated professor.
Be flexible and open to securing the courses you need to take rather than only taking the classes at the time and with the professor that you want.
