god asked him to go to a city cause it was a scary place with lots of sin, and Jonah refused. He got on a boat and went in the opposite direction! So then god created a storm, and the fisherman booted him off the ship and a whale trapped him in his mouth. The point is he was scared and he repented for 3 days God told the whale to drop him off, and jonah went, but still refusing, went to tell the city about the word and gods message, and they stopped.
